i had to switch form the maf to a map sensor when i got a standalone ecu. but it measures the air thats actually in the manifold, not the air going into it (like the z and a stock miata) so when i shift and the bov lets the air out, it doenst matter. i wont run rich. and i can get a bov that leaks at idle with little to no difference. im not sure thats the exact technical reason, but its arond there somewhere
